This is my third time here in three months. This time we went for some sangria which is excellent. Last couple of time we've went for dinner as well. The food is delicious. It's a little bit of authentic Spain in Glasgow's West End.

One Word WoooW!!!! 1 German and 4 from Spain had dinner there. All dishes was amazing tasty and very kind service. Preis is also very good. Absolutely if you are here in Glasgow a must to go have dinner. Thank you very much 😍 We would definitely come again. The foods were so good!! We finished directly therefore didn’t had pics 🙈

We were in Elenas’s last night for food, I have to say the Food was absolutely Delicious. We were well looked after by all the Staff, it is a Wee Gem 💎 of a Restaurant, Would thoroughly Recommend it to all.

Had a lovely meal here for 1st time and was very impressed. Service was excellent and so was the cooked to order food. Prices are reasonable and the staff are all friendly and helpful. I'm a wheelchair user and they had no problem finding a place for it once I was seated at the table. Would definitely eat there again.

A very special evening My husband and I chose Elena's for dinner on our wedding anniversary and we had a lovely evening. The food was excellent (as always), the waiter was very friendly and he even gave us two glasses of delicious cava on the house to celebrate our anniversary! Excellent Evening Great Staff Great Food We picked this restaurant right out of the blue as we were going to Glasgow to meet Lynda's daughter and husband. Lynda hadn't experienced tapas and it had been a while since I had so we went for it. Travelling in and out of Glasgow that afternoon we were delighted to hear from two separate taxi drivers that the restaurant had a great reputation so we knew we were onto a good thing. My poor sense of timing got us there half an hour early which wasn't a problem as we were shown to the bar and ordered drinks whilst our table was prepared. Another good sign was that there were quite a few people in the restaurant speaking Spanish so again we knew that if the local Spanish population were going there that it should be good. The decor is simple, rustic and really creates an atmosphere of unhurried enjoyable eating. We only had to wait around ten minutes and we were shown to our table and presented with an extensive menu. We were also presented with a small ball of potato with veg and spices in to try and it was marvellous. I asked how many dishes we should order between us to make a substantial meal and was told 6 and that was spot on. So we ordered, beer battered shrimps, asparagus in batter with blue cheese dip, meatballs, olives, mixed potato croquettes and Spanish Mediterranean chicken and were given some fabulous moist bread. Having polished it all off we went for what we thought would be smallish easy desserts to finish up with. I went for chocolate mouse that was presented in a large tall glass and was delicious. Lynda went for the chocolate brownie without the ice cream which was still massive, three good size portions with cream, needless to say we couldn't finish dessert. Add to all that 2 bottles of sparkling water and a large glass of white wine it all came to £62.25 which was exceptional value for money for a meal for two in Glasgow's West End on a Saturday night. Its clearly a popular venue for the locals too as their were many families of many generations in there clearly enjoying the food and themselves. Well done all at Elena's we will be back.

Decided to have lunch here and was not disappointed. Great host helped with the menu and feeding the kids including one who was a bit fussy so we're Ble to accommodate with some items from the breakfast menu. Ordered vegetarian, vegan and meat tapas dishes and all were delicious and portion sizes were great. Two plates were enough for lunch probably 3 plates for dinner. Churros were delicious. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian selections and choices that can be vegetarian or vegan on request as noted on menu.

Extremely welcoming - great hospitality Our first time at this restaurant and Spanish food isn't a regular for us. the place is clean and welcoming the food is great. We had some sharing tapas and played it quite safe. We had things like very simple goats cheese and bread which probably doesn't sound much but it was excellent. The highlight however was the people. They were incredibly welcoming and you just had the feeling they were really happy for you to be there and focussed on making your visit pleasant. we'll be back for the Paella when we have more time

Great authentic Spanish restaurant. Almost made up for our lost holiday in andalusia. Food is excellent rivals the menu in Radio in Santander. We will be back to sample more of your Spanish treats

Lovely cosy atmosphere and friendly staff here. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Food was amazing with good size portions, you'll only need two plates. Dietary restrictions: They have a separate fryer here for gluten free people.

I initially invested a total of $500 over a period of 5 weeks. Had a most enjoyable lunch. Feed was absolutely tremendous. Loved the thin cut calamari but the onions are not a good companion. The Pulpo was the best I’ve had in this country. The crema Catalan was to die for, the wine was excellent value, the goats cheese salad was tremendous. Patatas bravas good but not a potato I would have chosen. The service was excellent. A little quiet which was surprising as the food was fantastico!

Visited during lunch so was lovely and quiet. Very nice clean, welcoming restaurant. Alcohol free drinks were lovely. Food was delicious especially the desserts. Service was great, staff very friendly. Would definitely come back.

First time visit to Elena's and have to say it was really very nice. Very authentic Spanish with Tapas dishes firing out swiftly from the kitchen which were both tasty and piping hot. Perfect Saturday evening for two!! Was looking for somewhere to go as a mini celebration for two on a Saturday night and decided on Elena’s due to recommendations and that I’ve been wanting to go for ages. Was not disappointed! Our table wasn’t ready, which was cool, we were sat at the bar and our tab was opened without asking! Beer and Gin and tonic was delicious! Was seated in a perfect table for us in the corner behind the door. My other half is not that adventurous with food, so we compromised on a selection of sharing plates that we could both enjoy! So much food to share, I accompanied mine with a delicious red wine. Favourite dishes were the ribs, brie and salmon cubes, Spanish omelette and chicken skewers. I love that everything comes as they are ready providing a continuous flow of hot food. On this occasion the bread came last after asking twice, which was surprising others seemed to get their bread voice to accompany their plates. The whole evening was not rushed at all, after eating we ordered another couple of drinks and continued to enjoy the talented guitarist in the background. Good service and ambiance. Perfect for date night or girls night I look forward to returning to Elena’s.

Toured Andalusia a few weeks ago so think the selection and quality of tapas at Elena's is very good, authentic & great quality (apart from the Glasgow weather outside, you could easily be in Spain!). Portions were good, staff knowledgeable, helpful and service quick. I'd recommend to anyone!

Elena's Spanish Bar & Restaurant Glasgow Highly enjoyed dining at Elena's in Glasgow. Beverage: The glass of Organic Macabeo Sobre Lias, Tierra de Castilla, Torre Solar La Mancha, Spain 7.75 £ for a large glass was fresh and crisp. Appetizer: Albondigas de ternera caseras (homemade meatballs), the meatballs and sauce was excellent! 7.50£ Salad: Mezclum de lechugas (fresh picked lettuce/goats cheese/nuts/strawberry) was superb! 9.50£ Main: Chuletas de Cordero a la parrilla (grilled lamb chops) was served with fried potatoes, grilled tomato and padron peppers, the 3 vegetables would have benefited from a light sprinkle of sea salt. 17.00£ Dessert: Crema catalana (creme brulee) 7£ was clumpy but flavorful. Service was very good until the end when it became scattered and the staff did not appear to be communicating well with each other regarding our order. Quality for price is very good.

Excellent After reading some recent reviews i was a bit unsure about coming back. Glad i did though. We had a lovely night. Came here before and enjoyed it and it was our first revisit since lockdown. When we arrived we waited outside and someone came immediately to check we had booked, show us to a table and take our contact details. He explained that the table had been wiped down and offered an extra wipe down if we’d like it. Looking around i noticed the place has had a bit of a makeover since last visit. Very nice! Tables were more spaced out because of distancing. Our drinks order was taken quickly and shortly after our food order was taken. There was no problem of excessive wait. People were arriving, being told the safety procedures and shown to tables as we waited so there seemed to be a good system in place. Our food came out in good time. Clams were delicious and we ordered bread to mop up that amazing sauce. The fried courgettes in red wine glaze are fantastic. After our food we ordered another couple of glasses of wine and chilled before moving on. A really good and enjoyable meal and i have to say in total contrast to some recent reviews and this was a Saturday night. Remains a firm favourite and the effort to keep people safe and happy appreciated. Back soon!

Delicious Loved Elena's we were staying in Glasgow for the weekend and googled Spanish tapas and ended up here and I'm so glad we did! We sat outside in the sunshine and the lady who served us(the owner I think?)was lovely knowledgeable and recommended fabulous wine and tapas, we had the tomato salad, hummus, mushroom & spinach croquettes, prawn in chilli oil and iberian ham with cheese and it was all delicious we cannot wait to return.

Now do Spanish brekky alongside all day tapas and more substantial raciones and meals. Lovely family business, honest and authentic cantabrian cooking from Northern Spain. Relaxed atmosphere (can just have a coffee or a beer and quick bite) and also dog-friendly Kid-friendliness: It's Spanish family - kids are part of that, but don't expect a play area or child's menu - small portions of proper food

We were a group of 4 and had a variety of dishes, all of which were very good. It was a lunchtime and was quite quiet but I would imagine it would be much busier in the evening. The service was friendly, helpful and efficient .I would definitely go back.

Read the reviews and as we were across in Glasgow visiting both the SEC and Kelvingrove Museum [bit of an uphill climb during our surprisingly warm/hot summer 😉 ] we decided to give it a try. Not disappointed. In fact we were delighted by both the food and the service.

Could not fault the attentive service when we arrived, opting for the cool of an inside table. [We had phoned ahead to ensure a table and make sure it was open & had to leave a message. Learnt later that Elena's daughter was having to cope on her own during a busy patch.]

The 2 tapas + drink is a true bargain at £15! That gave us six to choose. The youngest in our party had opted for the tomato soup of the day and we were all treated to the Spanish equivalent of an 'amuse bouche' . Recommend the brie & walnuts, meatballs and especially the grilled vegetables which were worth the wait.

A glass of red, coffee made up two of the drinks in the package. The freshly squeezed orange was not included amongst the options but was refreshing and good value nevertheless.

All in all, a success. Looking forward to trying other tapas options next time.

Elena’s has now taken over from Rioja as my favourite Spanish tapas restaurant in Glasgow. The good is so fresh and delicious! And authentically Spanish. A lovely vibe in this restaurant with efficient and friendly staff. I have to especially mention Hannah, who looked after us that night and did a fabulous job! I’ll be back and soon ❤️

Went for dinner to this restaurant and was generally very pleased with the experience. The staff were all so kind and attentive. There doesn't seem to be a server dedicated to your table, so everyone helps out if you need something. The peppers were a bit over salted, but I'm sure with beer that would have been amazing. I recommend trying the chorizo, octopus and homemade ice cream. We'll be coming back for the paella when time allows and also to try their weekend Spanish breakfast.

First time visiting Elena's restaurant...welcoming to families with children. Lovely, delicious and authentic Spanish food. The kids give it 5-stars and so do we! Good location only five minutes from Kelvingrove museum. Hopefully we can come back next time we're in Glasgow.

Worth the money! On a visit to see my Brother, we booked the restaurant for 8 of us on the recommendation of the locals in attendance. The restaurant has an authentic feel when you enter and the staff are welcoming. The food is out if this world, big

Service is first class. Lovely friendly staff who kept us well informed and we're very attentive.
We were given a wee complimentary cream of asparagus soup when we sat down. Was delightful.
Pulpo a la Gallega was delicious but for £18 I think the portion was a bit too small. Gambas a la Plancha were lovely but came with a sauce which wasn't mentioned on the menu. The sauce was a lemon butter type sauce which was nice but too lemony for me. I dipped my sliced potatoes from my Pulpo a al Gallega dish into the butter lemon sauce which I enjoyed. The Tostado with crushed tomatoes, again lovely but the bread wasn't toasted enough so they were a bit soggy. Chicken wings "Spanish style" we're just plain chicken wings. Pulpo a la Brasa was good. The mashed potato was gorgeous! Pork belly was a special and tasty but just a wee bit dry at the ends and too chewy for me but the rest of the pork was lovely moist and the fat melted in the mouth. Yum.
Ordered a litre of Sangria which was nice but there was absolutely no kick to it and for £20 I expected a wee buzz at least. Ordered a small glass of Rioja which was beautiful. Will definitely go back but just get wine and stick to seafood.

Comfort food to the max. I loved Elena's. The food is original and has an authentic, home-made feel. I had delicious, flavoursome scrambled egg with asparagus, courgette fritters in a heavenly, crispy coating drizzled with honey, and scrumptious mussels in a creamy white wine broth. With generous portions and excellent service, this place is about to become a favourite!

This is a gem! Lots of well-cooked Northern Spanish food, with a lot of extras prepared in-house, rather than bought in jars. Lots of tapas, but the paellas are signature dishes. Drink/cocktail menus good too. Busy weekends, but quiet midweek - surprising given the quality and authenticity of what's on offer.

Consistently good, and authentic food Thank you for another lovely meal yesterday. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and looked after us well. The food was wonderful again - I am part Spanish so my standards are high and they were met. It was my husband's first time and he loved it. Excellent! I went here with my Daughter, Son in law and Grandson on Wednesday 12th of April after a great visit to the Riverside museum. My daughter picked the venue (it’s usually my job to pick as I’m a chef) , however I left it up to her. What a great choice! We arrived a wee bit early however this was not an issue, it would have been lovely to sit outside but it was a wee bit chilly. (Must be lovely in the summer ) We were seated quickly , given the menus, asked about allergies etc, all very professional. The ambience of the place was great, sun shining through the window, good music etc. Actually felt like we were in Spain. The young lady took our drinks order and returned to take our food order shortly after. There were three of us so we decided to order 9 dishes between us as they were doing a ‘buy two get the third free’ offer. We were given a complimentary potato salad as an ‘Amuse Bouche’ which was lovely. The food - We had - Home made bread, butter, balsamic vinegar and olives Garlic prawns Chicken strips Deep fried asparagus Black Pudding Croquettes Chorizo cooked in red wine Battered King Prawns Patatas Bravas Deep fried Brie & Pardon peppers All served with appropriate sauces and dips. Every dish was extremely tasty and we ate the lot! Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert as wee were too full, but they even make their own ice cream !, All in all a great experience and I wish I lived a bit closer as I would be in there at least a couple of times a week! I think you can just pop in for a drink too? We will definitely return here soon, Special mention must go to the young lady and the gentleman who served us. They were outstanding (I apologise for not getting their names! )Both them are a credit to the business. Bill was £80 which included 4 pints of lovely beer. Muchas gracias, hasta pronto!

Wonderful dinner in friendly atmosphere near Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum While exploring University of Glasgow and Kelvingrove Park in the afternoon, we were thinking of having dinner nearby. We chose Elena’s place and we were not disappointed at all. Elena is the owner of this Spanish, Mediterranean restaurant and helped us to choose items including non-alcoholic drink. All the items were super tasty and reasonably priced. We sat outside as evening weather was very comfy. Elena and her team members checked several times if everything is ok or we need anything. We felt welcomed and made a very good conversation. We will surely come back when we get opportunity. Thank you Elena and your team members.

Taste of Spain Lovely place. Menu of Raciones (bigger portions than Tapas) and Main Dishes. We had a super selection including meat balls, pulpo, padrons, and grilled vegetables . Just great. The place is close by Kelvingrove museums. Well worth a visit. We felt as if we had been transported to Spain, after three years without being able to visit!

A really nice Spanish tapas joint/restaurant. Me and my lady thoroughly enjoyed the food on offer. It was nice sitting outside to eat also. The calamares were delicious, cooked perfect. The patatas bravas very nice with the garlic aioli. The mussels in a creamy white wine sauce were fantastic but the highlight was the goats cheese and walnuts..absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back..muy bien!

Food is excellent. Add to that the staff having an impromptu dance. If they are that happy at their work then they must be doing something right!😄 A must try for authentic Spanish food. Vegetarian options: Plenty available.

I liked everything here. Service was available but unobtrusive and tactful. A complimentary tapas is included and changes daily. The raciónes offered here are larger than tapas. I asked about the dishes from the north and heard the 'Rabas' are Calamari with onions. The adobitos which I think was lightly battered pieces of hake tasted fresh and light. Apparently it's a southern dish. The grilled vegetables were artistically presented. I liked it here enough to stay for pudding. The crema catalana was light and fluffy and I left completely full. Decor here is light, airy and relaxed, neither rustic nor brash modern, a bit like being near the sea. Mixed, fairly quiet clientele and a couple of locals at the bar. It felt exactly like a nice Spanish restaurant in Glasgow! Update: Oct 2019. I've eaten here twice now. Since my first visit it's won awards. One girl had an attitude unsuited to front of house service but apart from that everything still good.

I visited this restaurant today for lunch. Seems all trace and trace and social distancing in place, all staff were wearing masks. Were given a table outside, service was a bit slow.. but to be fair the restaurant was busy, one of our drinks was forgotten and the staff had to be reminded. Food did not come out all at once, so we were unable to share and enjoy... which was a shame... as the food was great, hot and enjoyable. Everywhere seemed clean and tidy, staff were friendly and polite.... would I recommend, yes 100%, will I be revisiting... again yes 100%.

We'll be back As newbies to tapas we liked the look of this place. Staff guided us re choices and we enjoyed what we picked. 5 items from the menu was more than enough. Very tasty and delicious. Lovely wine with the meal, attentive staff and a good, family atmosphere.

A little bt of Spanish quality in Glasgow This visit was a birthday meal for a mix of vegetarian, vegan and meat eaters. Elena's catered for it in an easy and relaxed way. The first table we were offered was too close to the servery and the toilets. Having pointed this out we were moved to a more appropriate table for our party. The mix tapas was interesting and well presented, the salmon was nicely cooked and the baby potatoes and vegetables well cooked. The paella was vegan and my first outing with a non meat paella, however it was savoury, tasty and very enjoyable. The Rioja was served at room temperature, a good wine fragrant with violets and wild herbs, with raspberry and dark fruit and then spicy leather and some chocolate thoroughly enjoyable.

Reduced to 4 stars ** Update after 2nd visit: the food and everything was great again except them trying to cheat us on the bill .. they added two items to my bill of something that we never ordered. Of course they removed them when I pointed it out but did not even say sorry. So always check you bill! It’s a shame that they tinted such a great positive food and service experience. **Original review after 1st visit** Went to get a quick bite but ended up Staying for a few hours. Great service, yummy food for good prices. Loved all that we got - garlic prawns, prawn soup, garlic langoustines, house wine, meatballs. Love it so much that ended up coming back again the following day to try other items on the menu. Menu is pretty large. Paella can probably feed 4 not just 2 people.

This was our second time visiting Elena's while on a trip to Glasgow, and we've always had an excellent experience. Great food, excellent service, and caters amazingly for those who need gluten-free dishes. We will be back.

Fantastic seafood and great staff. Just had the finest meal in Europe in years, My son, daughter in law and I had the most wonderful sea food platter. Absolutely crammed with lobster, langoustines, crab, prawns , cockles, mussels and the tenderest squid I have tasted. Easily fed 3 but could also serve 4. Brilliant seafood at a fantastic price, will be back, also serving staff were brilliant and laid back. Best of luck in the future!

My boyfriend and I had a lovely lunch this February. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive to your needs. Lots of information given about menu items and portion sizes. My boyfriend had the seafood soup which he loved and the battered prawns which were excellent. I went for the seafood stew which was also very tasty. The portion sizes were reasonable. I particularly like the fact that it is all fresh seafood not frozen. Because I love fresh seafood I would definitely go back. I thought the prices were on the high side but as I love fresh lobster, prawns and clams, I think it is worth a treat from time to time. Love that it's dog friendly. Our overall experience was fantastic and I would recommend this gastro pub .

Family celebration at Elena’s Celebration lunch for 14 family and friends. The quality of food was fantastic and the portions generous. We selected from one of the set menus with a few alterations, all of which were accommodated without any fuss. The food and drinks represented extremely good value and were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present. The service was also first class, staff being both friendly and efficient and a credit to Elena.

What a fantastic meal my husband and I had, we had various types of tapas and they were all delicious, loved the decor, great friendly service and can’t wait to go back.

Lovely traditional Spanish food. Good service and very helpful say. The food really is excellent. I'd have posted more photos but the good was so good it didn't last long enough 😊 Highly Recommended.
