Fantastic restaurant ideal for arena We had a lovely meal here, everywhere else around was full and wasn’t taking last minute bookings but they managed to get us in. We sat at the bar for tapas which was cool. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food arrived quickly and was of great quality, albeit a little pricey. However overall a great place to eat and well worth it. Ideal if attending events at the OVO hydro.

Authentic tapas Quality of food was fantastic but was slightly let down by the inconsistent portion sizes. 5 tiny pieces of chorizo for £10 was a lot more than most other tapas places and was the opposite end of the scale to the large portions of tapas we also ate here tonight.

Superb! As a southsider it's hard to tempt me over to the west end these days, we've got a lot of good restaurants on our doorstep. However, some friends recommended Elena's and it didn't disappoint! The waiter who greeted us was knowledgeable and friendly, the waitress who served our table for the rest of the evening even more so. The food was amazing and service was prompt. My only complaint was the TV screen showing the chef's cookery demonstration. I was reminded every 3 minutes that we should have also ordered the patatas bravas! We've booked again for Christmas eve so I'll get my chance! Fantastic evening, can't wait for round 2!!

Cannot deny the food was absolutely incredible, really enjoyed every single dish! Happened upon this place because we were in the area for a wedding, so sadly unlikely we will return, but would definitely recommend and if we were back in Glasgow I’m sure we’d seek it out!

Amazing food, decent portions. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The background music is gentle and low, allowing a comfortable conversation and a quiet space to appreciate the food. Quiet restaurants are very rare, so this is my favourite place now.

We were a group of 4 and had a variety of dishes, all of which were very good. It was a lunchtime and was quite quiet but I would imagine it would be much busier in the evening. The service was friendly, helpful and efficient .I would definitely go back.

I came in here from Yorkhill in pain feeling sorry for myself and wanting a comforting hot chocolate. I was met with a smiling face and a nice open teberna. Open enough for those with mobility issues to get seated or takeaway. I heard them being very amenable to a person coming into finalise a mixed ability party booking and as food is made on site they will accommodate your dietary wishes also. The music was at a great level and during my short wait for my tasty racións I even daydreamed that Elena's would be just as welcoming during a fiesta. When i am next in Yorkhill I know where I'm going afterwards. Came in for the chocolate and stayed for food and atmosphere. They well deserve their awards. Dietary restrictions: Be polite and specific and they'll be amenable to any dietary needs. Kid-friendliness: There aren't any toys etc to play with but as long as your child knows not to get under feet and be a general toerag I don't think children would be a problem. However as this asks under kid-friendliness I know the cabras must've been happy and friendly as they're tender to eat 😀 jk... kinda Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room and very accommodating.

Delicious food. We will be back. Great food and service. Almost could have been in Spain with the sunshining outside and the delicious tapas style food. We opted for fish - fish stew and the hake with asparagus done two ways as a side. Generous portions with just enough room for a homemade icecream to share. Price pretty reasonable too.

Family celebration at Elena’s Celebration lunch for 14 family and friends. The quality of food was fantastic and the portions generous. We selected from one of the set menus with a few alterations, all of which were accommodated without any fuss. The food and drinks represented extremely good value and were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present. The service was also first class, staff being both friendly and efficient and a credit to Elena.

Some of the best food in the area, very nice atmosphere and good seats arrangement, staff are lovely and really helpful with what to order, again fantastic food, would highly recommend

My boyfriend and I had a lovely lunch this February. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive to your needs. Lots of information given about menu items and portion sizes. My boyfriend had the seafood soup which he loved and the battered prawns which were excellent. I went for the seafood stew which was also very tasty. The portion sizes were reasonable. I particularly like the fact that it is all fresh seafood not frozen. Because I love fresh seafood I would definitely go back. I thought the prices were on the high side but as I love fresh lobster, prawns and clams, I think it is worth a treat from time to time. Love that it's dog friendly. Our overall experience was fantastic and I would recommend this gastro pub .

Visited during lunch so was lovely and quiet. Very nice clean, welcoming restaurant. Alcohol free drinks were lovely. Food was delicious especially the desserts. Service was great, staff very friendly. Would definitely come back.

Fantastic seafood and great staff. Just had the finest meal in Europe in years, My son, daughter in law and I had the most wonderful sea food platter. Absolutely crammed with lobster, langoustines, crab, prawns , cockles, mussels and the tenderest squid I have tasted. Easily fed 3 but could also serve 4. Brilliant seafood at a fantastic price, will be back, also serving staff were brilliant and laid back. Best of luck in the future!

Perfect Saturday evening for two!! Was looking for somewhere to go as a mini celebration for two on a Saturday night and decided on Elena’s due to recommendations and that I’ve been wanting to go for ages. Was not disappointed! Our table wasn’t ready, which was cool, we were sat at the bar and our tab was opened without asking! Beer and Gin and tonic was delicious! Was seated in a perfect table for us in the corner behind the door. My other half is not that adventurous with food, so we compromised on a selection of sharing plates that we could both enjoy! So much food to share, I accompanied mine with a delicious red wine. Favourite dishes were the ribs, brie and salmon cubes, Spanish omelette and chicken skewers. I love that everything comes as they are ready providing a continuous flow of hot food. On this occasion the bread came last after asking twice, which was surprising others seemed to get their bread voice to accompany their plates. The whole evening was not rushed at all, after eating we ordered another couple of drinks and continued to enjoy the talented guitarist in the background. Good service and ambiance. Perfect for date night or girls night I look forward to returning to Elena’s.

Spanish Sunday Brunch -Oh, you want to! Well established for evening and later in the afternoon, Elena’s also has a cracking Spanish flavoured brunch menu. Freshly made tortilla like nothing you’ve tasted here ❤️💃🏻 Loads of other options, down to fruit salad and sandwich mixto (ham and cheese toasty 😄). Really lovely staff and a relaxed environment to start your day ☀️

Just popped in for a beer on a sunny evening and decided to have some food because it smelled so good. We were not disappointed - the staff were lovely, service excellent and the food was delicious. Calamari was perfect, which can be a hit or a miss. We will definitely be back and would recommend if you're looking for delicious, authentic Spanish food 😊

Great restaurant with varied menu. Lots of good options to share as a group. Had the seafood paella for first time last night, tasted great and portion is huge. Dog friendly too and nice staff.

Came here for lunch on Saturday and was so full, I couldn’t eat dinner. Picked this specifically as they list all their allergens on the menu (I’m Gf)

All the food was delicious, especially the Octopus - yum yum! Also the chicken goujon so with the dip, fantastic, give me 2 lots next time

Taste of Spain Lovely place. Menu of Raciones (bigger portions than Tapas) and Main Dishes. We had a super selection including meat balls, pulpo, padrons, and grilled vegetables . Just great. The place is close by Kelvingrove museums. Well worth a visit. We felt as if we had been transported to Spain, after three years without being able to visit!

Excellent Evening Great Staff Great Food We picked this restaurant right out of the blue as we were going to Glasgow to meet Lynda's daughter and husband. Lynda hadn't experienced tapas and it had been a while since I had so we went for it. Travelling in and out of Glasgow that afternoon we were delighted to hear from two separate taxi drivers that the restaurant had a great reputation so we knew we were onto a good thing. My poor sense of timing got us there half an hour early which wasn't a problem as we were shown to the bar and ordered drinks whilst our table was prepared. Another good sign was that there were quite a few people in the restaurant speaking Spanish so again we knew that if the local Spanish population were going there that it should be good. The decor is simple, rustic and really creates an atmosphere of unhurried enjoyable eating. We only had to wait around ten minutes and we were shown to our table and presented with an extensive menu. We were also presented with a small ball of potato with veg and spices in to try and it was marvellous. I asked how many dishes we should order between us to make a substantial meal and was told 6 and that was spot on. So we ordered, beer battered shrimps, asparagus in batter with blue cheese dip, meatballs, olives, mixed potato croquettes and Spanish Mediterranean chicken and were given some fabulous moist bread. Having polished it all off we went for what we thought would be smallish easy desserts to finish up with. I went for chocolate mouse that was presented in a large tall glass and was delicious. Lynda went for the chocolate brownie without the ice cream which was still massive, three good size portions with cream, needless to say we couldn't finish dessert. Add to all that 2 bottles of sparkling water and a large glass of white wine it all came to £62.25 which was exceptional value for money for a meal for two in Glasgow's West End on a Saturday night. Its clearly a popular venue for the locals too as their were many families of many generations in there clearly enjoying the food and themselves. Well done all at Elena's we will be back.

I went here on Halloween with friends. I had the octopus main as a starter and the seafood platter. The octopus was ok, didn't taste of much seasoning. The seafood platter with lobster was HUGE. It was £60 and have to say it's the biggest platter I've ever seen, you'd normally pay this amount for something a third of the size as there was no salad padding underneath, it was seafood down to the plate! I've grown used to platters being for one so was pleasantly surprised. There was so much I took a doggie bag for lunch the next day. My friends all had the tapas which they said was ok. They also had sirloin steaks and although they asked for well done, all were medium and one of the guys couldn't eat a big part of his as he doesn't like pink meat so eat around the pink bits. Overall it was fantastic value for money though it was more quantity over quality (except for the platter, which was lovely)

Wonderful dinner in friendly atmosphere near Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum While exploring University of Glasgow and Kelvingrove Park in the afternoon, we were thinking of having dinner nearby. We chose Elena’s place and we were not disappointed at all. Elena is the owner of this Spanish, Mediterranean restaurant and helped us to choose items including non-alcoholic drink. All the items were super tasty and reasonably priced. We sat outside as evening weather was very comfy. Elena and her team members checked several times if everything is ok or we need anything. We felt welcomed and made a very good conversation. We will surely come back when we get opportunity. Thank you Elena and your team members.

A very special evening My husband and I chose Elena's for dinner on our wedding anniversary and we had a lovely evening. The food was excellent (as always), the waiter was very friendly and he even gave us two glasses of delicious cava on the house to celebrate our anniversary! I liked everything here. Service was available but unobtrusive and tactful. A complimentary tapas is included and changes daily. The raciónes offered here are larger than tapas. I asked about the dishes from the north and heard the 'Rabas' are Calamari with onions. The adobitos which I think was lightly battered pieces of hake tasted fresh and light. Apparently it's a southern dish. The grilled vegetables were artistically presented. I liked it here enough to stay for pudding. The crema catalana was light and fluffy and I left completely full. Decor here is light, airy and relaxed, neither rustic nor brash modern, a bit like being near the sea. Mixed, fairly quiet clientele and a couple of locals at the bar. It felt exactly like a nice Spanish restaurant in Glasgow! Update: Oct 2019. I've eaten here twice now. Since my first visit it's won awards. One girl had an attitude unsuited to front of house service but apart from that everything still good.

Tasty food that is 2x larger than tapas, 2½ plates would be what I recommend. The dessert topped off a great meal. And the service was top class! Will definitely be back.

Food was really nice and tasty. Sadly this was slightly let down by the service , with 2 of the younger staff looking like they didn’t really want to be there but managed to look busy all the time. Was really hard to get their attention despite being in view of the bar resulting after 5 minutes of me having to stand up and approach the bar . This was picked up by one of their colleagues and they then came to our table to take our additional food orders . We had a range of dishes including the grilled vegetables which were a really nice accompaniment with everything else. For desert I had 2 scoops of the home made ice cream which were absolutely delicious .

Went for late lunch / early dinner for a birthday and had a lovely time. The staff were engaging and helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and the best way for us to order. Every dish was delicious and we were struggling to finish everything in the end. We were going to go somewhere else for a drink afterwards but had had such a lovely time we ended up just sitting outside in a rare blast of Glasgow sunshine with another bottle of wine and another delightful waitress. Can't wait to go back. 😋😋😋

Fantastic, Amazing, Fabulous and all the other good things. This was the most fabulous place. The food was excellent, great choices and brilliant recommendations from the staff. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially our waitress Nidia who was an absolute super star. . The various croquettes were stunning and the garlic prawns were to die for, we should have just ordered more bread to mop up that amazing sauce. Thank you for a fabulous evening!

Visited today with husband and kids. Staff friendly and attentive. Food delicious. We are frequent visitors to Spain and enjoy tapas. This is one of the best we have eaten outside of Spain. Highly recommend goats cheese, spinach and mushroom croquettes and meatballs. Free appetiser was a nice touch too. We will be back!

Amazing option as breakfast with the best taste of Spain at Elena’s Tasteful and vibrant tastes, original plates from Spain breakfast, with options for all! I really enjoy my meal. You can’t fail to enjoy lunch here When you walk in you know it’s going to be good at this lovely Spanish restaurant. The smell is wonderful, decor homely, and nice seating that is not cramped at all. Then comes the friendly family feel service, and then great great food. We ate for three with a bottle of wine and when the bill came it felt totally reasonable on the wallet. Take your friends or family. You can’t fail to enjoy lunch here. It’s great

Excellent! I went here with my Daughter, Son in law and Grandson on Wednesday 12th of April after a great visit to the Riverside museum. My daughter picked the venue (it’s usually my job to pick as I’m a chef) , however I left it up to her. What a great choice! We arrived a wee bit early however this was not an issue, it would have been lovely to sit outside but it was a wee bit chilly. (Must be lovely in the summer ) We were seated quickly , given the menus, asked about allergies etc, all very professional. The ambience of the place was great, sun shining through the window, good music etc. Actually felt like we were in Spain. The young lady took our drinks order and returned to take our food order shortly after. There were three of us so we decided to order 9 dishes between us as they were doing a ‘buy two get the third free’ offer. We were given a complimentary potato salad as an ‘Amuse Bouche’ which was lovely. The food - We had - Home made bread, butter, balsamic vinegar and olives Garlic prawns Chicken strips Deep fried asparagus Black Pudding Croquettes Chorizo cooked in red wine Battered King Prawns Patatas Bravas Deep fried Brie & Pardon peppers All served with appropriate sauces and dips. Every dish was extremely tasty and we ate the lot! Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert as wee were too full, but they even make their own ice cream !, All in all a great experience and I wish I lived a bit closer as I would be in there at least a couple of times a week! I think you can just pop in for a drink too? We will definitely return here soon, Special mention must go to the young lady and the gentleman who served us. They were outstanding (I apologise for not getting their names! )Both them are a credit to the business. Bill was £80 which included 4 pints of lovely beer. Muchas gracias, hasta pronto!

What a fantastic meal my husband and I had, we had various types of tapas and they were all delicious, loved the decor, great friendly service and can’t wait to go back.

Comfort food to the max. I loved Elena's. The food is original and has an authentic, home-made feel. I had delicious, flavoursome scrambled egg with asparagus, courgette fritters in a heavenly, crispy coating drizzled with honey, and scrumptious mussels in a creamy white wine broth. With generous portions and excellent service, this place is about to become a favourite!

Decided to have lunch here and was not disappointed. Great host helped with the menu and feeding the kids including one who was a bit fussy so we're Ble to accommodate with some items from the breakfast menu. Ordered vegetarian, vegan and meat tapas dishes and all were delicious and portion sizes were great. Two plates were enough for lunch probably 3 plates for dinner. Churros were delicious. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian selections and choices that can be vegetarian or vegan on request as noted on menu.

One Word WoooW!!!! 1 German and 4 from Spain had dinner there. All dishes was amazing tasty and very kind service. Preis is also very good. Absolutely if you are here in Glasgow a must to go have dinner. Thank you very much 😍 We would definitely come again. The foods were so good!! We finished directly therefore didn’t had pics 🙈

Went for dinner to this restaurant and was generally very pleased with the experience. The staff were all so kind and attentive. There doesn't seem to be a server dedicated to your table, so everyone helps out if you need something. The peppers were a bit over salted, but I'm sure with beer that would have been amazing. I recommend trying the chorizo, octopus and homemade ice cream. We'll be coming back for the paella when time allows and also to try their weekend Spanish breakfast.

Amazing Spanish food I have been here quite a few times over the years and it never disappoints. Everything is amazingly good. The flavour is spot on and the quality of the ingredients is superb. I am myself originally from the North of Spain and I can say all the dishes are very tasty. No wonder I keep coming every time I want to enjoy our typical cuisine. This time there is a special mention to those "torrijas" (fried bread), which brought back some fond memories from my childhood. By the way, their cocktails are out of this world as well!

Worth the money! On a visit to see my Brother, we booked the restaurant for 8 of us on the recommendation of the locals in attendance. The restaurant has an authentic feel when you enter and the staff are welcoming. The food is out if this world, big

Reduced to 4 stars ** Update after 2nd visit: the food and everything was great again except them trying to cheat us on the bill .. they added two items to my bill of something that we never ordered. Of course they removed them when I pointed it out but did not even say sorry. So always check you bill! It’s a shame that they tinted such a great positive food and service experience. **Original review after 1st visit** Went to get a quick bite but ended up Staying for a few hours. Great service, yummy food for good prices. Loved all that we got - garlic prawns, prawn soup, garlic langoustines, house wine, meatballs. Love it so much that ended up coming back again the following day to try other items on the menu. Menu is pretty large. Paella can probably feed 4 not just 2 people.

Great Sunday Brunch Visited Sunday morning for family and friends brunch. We had eaten here before, but always later in the day. Nice selection of freshly made juices, my pineapple and mint was very good. I also tried the strawberry juice, first time that I’ve had fresh strawberry juice. We had quite a selection of dishes as we were a table of 10. The dishes came out of the kitchen one by one as they were ready, just like the later in the day food we’ve had here before. Would definitely return.

Had never visited this before but chose to eat here as it had many gluten free options. Was thoroughly impressed with the food and the decor in the restaurant. Service was fast and efficient but the only downside was that the food did not all come out at the same time. However, due to this and giving us the wrong asparagus, they refunded the coffee. My favourite dishes were definitely the calamari and pork Ribs. The chocolate mousse was also delicious and nothing like I expected. Would recommend and thank you to the lovely staff! Dietary restrictions: Nearly every item was gluten free - most vast selection I have ever seen.

An amazing evening of great tapas and good friends!! Elena put on an amazing afternoon (and evening!) for us and friends to celebrate a big birthday. From start to finish nothing was too much trouble and the food and wine just kept on coming at a lively pace. The dishes served were all so varied and yet the one thing they did have in common was that they were all straight out of the top drawer! Her descriptions of the ingredients she uses and where she sources them from was quite incredible: little things like that definitely make the difference. I couldnt recommend Elena's enough. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday afternoon/evening!

Extremely welcoming - great hospitality Our first time at this restaurant and Spanish food isn't a regular for us. the place is clean and welcoming the food is great. We had some sharing tapas and played it quite safe. We had things like very simple goats cheese and bread which probably doesn't sound much but it was excellent. The highlight however was the people. They were incredibly welcoming and you just had the feeling they were really happy for you to be there and focussed on making your visit pleasant. we'll be back for the Paella when we have more time

Great tasting tapas on the becoming very trendy Old Dumbarton Road! Seats outside to enjoy a wine in the sun or ample seating inside for a cozy get together with friends. Fast service and great selection of food and drinks

Elena's Spanish Bar & Restaurant Glasgow Highly enjoyed dining at Elena's in Glasgow. Beverage: The glass of Organic Macabeo Sobre Lias, Tierra de Castilla, Torre Solar La Mancha, Spain 7.75 £ for a large glass was fresh and crisp. Appetizer: Albondigas de ternera caseras (homemade meatballs), the meatballs and sauce was excellent! 7.50£ Salad: Mezclum de lechugas (fresh picked lettuce/goats cheese/nuts/strawberry) was superb! 9.50£ Main: Chuletas de Cordero a la parrilla (grilled lamb chops) was served with fried potatoes, grilled tomato and padron peppers, the 3 vegetables would have benefited from a light sprinkle of sea salt. 17.00£ Dessert: Crema catalana (creme brulee) 7£ was clumpy but flavorful. Service was very good until the end when it became scattered and the staff did not appear to be communicating well with each other regarding our order. Quality for price is very good.
