A really nice Spanish tapas joint/restaurant. Me and my lady thoroughly enjoyed the food on offer. It was nice sitting outside to eat also. The calamares were delicious, cooked perfect. The patatas bravas very nice with the garlic aioli. The mussels in a creamy white wine sauce were fantastic but the highlight was the goats cheese and walnuts..absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back..muy bien!

Amazing food, decent portions. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The background music is gentle and low, allowing a comfortable conversation and a quiet space to appreciate the food. Quiet restaurants are very rare, so this is my favourite place now.

Soup, sandwich & sun Wandering past at noon and spotted their lunchtime meal deal. It was something a bit different so in we went. Ordered seafood soup & sandwich, with a cerveza plus a side of sachi papas. Even the sun came out to make it feel even more like we were in Spain! Super service too.

Had a lovely meal here for 1st time and was very impressed. Service was excellent and so was the cooked to order food. Prices are reasonable and the staff are all friendly and helpful. I'm a wheelchair user and they had no problem finding a place for it once I was seated at the table. Would definitely eat there again.

Read the reviews and as we were across in Glasgow visiting both the SEC and Kelvingrove Museum [bit of an uphill climb during our surprisingly warm/hot summer 😉 ] we decided to give it a try. Not disappointed. In fact we were delighted by both the food and the service.

Could not fault the attentive service when we arrived, opting for the cool of an inside table. [We had phoned ahead to ensure a table and make sure it was open & had to leave a message. Learnt later that Elena's daughter was having to cope on her own during a busy patch.]

The 2 tapas + drink is a true bargain at £15! That gave us six to choose. The youngest in our party had opted for the tomato soup of the day and we were all treated to the Spanish equivalent of an 'amuse bouche' . Recommend the brie & walnuts, meatballs and especially the grilled vegetables which were worth the wait.

A glass of red, coffee made up two of the drinks in the package. The freshly squeezed orange was not included amongst the options but was refreshing and good value nevertheless.

All in all, a success. Looking forward to trying other tapas options next time.

Our best restaurant meal in months! A great meal: a wide range of raciones (more generous than usual tapas); we enjoyed every single one we chose as they were cooked to perfection to well-balanced recipes. Our after dinner coffees and liqueurs were enjoyed in a relaxed comfortably-fed haze (the Belmonte coffee and anis del mono liqueur were both great revelations). The staff were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic without ever being intrusive: a bonus that they were careful and skilled in checking that dishes would not trigger one person's allergy. Comfortable and unpretentious - I could not suggest a single improvement. My only regret is that I hadn't eaten there previously!

An amazing evening of great tapas and good friends!! Elena put on an amazing afternoon (and evening!) for us and friends to celebrate a big birthday. From start to finish nothing was too much trouble and the food and wine just kept on coming at a lively pace. The dishes served were all so varied and yet the one thing they did have in common was that they were all straight out of the top drawer! Her descriptions of the ingredients she uses and where she sources them from was quite incredible: little things like that definitely make the difference. I couldnt recommend Elena's enough. Three full plates + dessert for a tenner and good gluten free options WITHOUT a surcharge. Great value for money but not because of quantity alone--great food. It's different than the Mexican-style cuisine I'm used to back home but very, very good.

I really can't recommend her in 100 paragraphs but in summary she regained and was able to help me from my financial mess to a stable and financial balance. Perfect Saturday evening for two!! Was looking for somewhere to go as a mini celebration for two on a Saturday night and decided on Elena’s due to recommendations and that I’ve been wanting to go for ages. Was not disappointed! Our table wasn’t ready, which was cool, we were sat at the bar and our tab was opened without asking! Beer and Gin and tonic was delicious! Was seated in a perfect table for us in the corner behind the door. My other half is not that adventurous with food, so we compromised on a selection of sharing plates that we could both enjoy! So much food to share, I accompanied mine with a delicious red wine. Favourite dishes were the ribs, brie and salmon cubes, Spanish omelette and chicken skewers. I love that everything comes as they are ready providing a continuous flow of hot food. On this occasion the bread came last after asking twice, which was surprising others seemed to get their bread voice to accompany their plates. The whole evening was not rushed at all, after eating we ordered another couple of drinks and continued to enjoy the talented guitarist in the background. Good service and ambiance. Perfect for date night or girls night I look forward to returning to Elena’s.

This is a gem! Lots of well-cooked Northern Spanish food, with a lot of extras prepared in-house, rather than bought in jars. Lots of tapas, but the paellas are signature dishes. Drink/cocktail menus good too. Busy weekends, but quiet midweek - surprising given the quality and authenticity of what's on offer.

Wonderful dinner in friendly atmosphere near Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum While exploring University of Glasgow and Kelvingrove Park in the afternoon, we were thinking of having dinner nearby. We chose Elena’s place and we were not disappointed at all. Elena is the owner of this Spanish, Mediterranean restaurant and helped us to choose items including non-alcoholic drink. All the items were super tasty and reasonably priced. We sat outside as evening weather was very comfy. Elena and her team members checked several times if everything is ok or we need anything. Went for brunch today and the restaurant was incredibly quiet but NO IDEA how the food was absolutely wonderful and the service was 10/10. This placed should be absolutely booked out for breakfast. Will 100% be back.

Truly authentic Spanish food. Everything is made fresh even the ice creams. We chose 2 dishes each some olives and bread and we enjoyed every one. We couldn't pick a favourite. We were given a free tapas which was a lovely touch. We also tasted a selection of deserts which were fantastic.
The service was friendly also. We will return. Highly recommended

Food is excellent. Add to that the staff having an impromptu dance. If they are that happy at their work then they must be doing something right!😄 A must try for authentic Spanish food. Vegetarian options: Plenty available.

Oustanding! Seven years after opening, Elena's remains outstanding. The selection of larger-than-average tapas is extensive. Prices are reasonable. Service is friendly--and on a busy Friday evening Elena personally served us! We hope the chicken stuffed with vegetables (a special for the night) makes it onto the regular menu. Location is just across the road from Kelvingrove Museum.

Absolutely amazing place! Chose it for my birthday meal and it was the best choice in the whole of Glasgow! Passionate It was clear that the everyone was passionate about the food that was being shared with us. The welcome and the service were warm and friendly. The food was a treat. I loved the roasted padron peppers with salt flakes and the pineapple & mint juice. The homemade ice cream was the best I’ve had in a long while. We can’t wait to bring friends and family to this wee gem.

My husband and I walked into Elena's today to enjoy a very filling and delicious Spanish Sunday Brunch. A beautiful little neighbourhood cafe/bar/restaurant on the far corner of Regent Moray Street, a stone's throw away from Kelvin Grove Gallery and Museum.
We were warmly greeted by Elena herself, she definitely brought a wee bit of Spanish sunshine to our table on a wet Glasgow morning. The rest of the team were equally friendly and attentive, giving us really good service and chat.
I had heard a lot of good things about the Brunch and I can safely say it was delicious. See photos below. One of the best brunches in the area, for sure, if not Glasgow. Authentic home cooked Spanish food. It was great to try something a little different.
My husband had mushrooms, patatas bravas and eggs, perfect for his vegetarian requirements, I had Spanish cheese and ham toastie with eggs and patatas bravas. It was so tasty and so big too. Excellent value. The eggs were done perfectly to allow you to dip your patatas bravas into the soft runny yolks. I also had a lovely freshly squeezed orange juice. I can see why the restaurant is so popular, deservedly so! Definitely worth checking out. Food standards and service were second to none. All served up in a homely wee Spanish restaurant. 5* Thank you Elena and team. We will be back.

I visited this restaurant today for lunch. Seems all trace and trace and social distancing in place, all staff were wearing masks. Were given a table outside, service was a bit slow.. but to be fair the restaurant was busy, one of our drinks was forgotten and the staff had to be reminded. Food did not come out all at once, so we were unable to share and enjoy... which was a shame... as the food was great, hot and enjoyable. Everywhere seemed clean and tidy, staff were friendly and polite.... would I recommend, yes 100%, will I be revisiting... again yes 100%.

Service is first class. Lovely friendly staff who kept us well informed and we're very attentive.
We were given a wee complimentary cream of asparagus soup when we sat down. Was delightful.
Pulpo a la Gallega was delicious but for £18 I think the portion was a bit too small. Gambas a la Plancha were lovely but came with a sauce which wasn't mentioned on the menu. The sauce was a lemon butter type sauce which was nice but too lemony for me. I dipped my sliced potatoes from my Pulpo a al Gallega dish into the butter lemon sauce which I enjoyed. The Tostado with crushed tomatoes, again lovely but the bread wasn't toasted enough so they were a bit soggy. Chicken wings "Spanish style" we're just plain chicken wings. Pulpo a la Brasa was good. The mashed potato was gorgeous! Pork belly was a special and tasty but just a wee bit dry at the ends and too chewy for me but the rest of the pork was lovely moist and the fat melted in the mouth. Yum.
Ordered a litre of Sangria which was nice but there was absolutely no kick to it and for £20 I expected a wee buzz at least. Ordered a small glass of Rioja which was beautiful. Will definitely go back but just get wine and stick to seafood.

Fantastic seafood and great staff. Just had the finest meal in Europe in years, My son, daughter in law and I had the most wonderful sea food platter. Absolutely crammed with lobster, langoustines, crab, prawns , cockles, mussels and the tenderest squid I have tasted. Easily fed 3 but could also serve 4. Brilliant seafood at a fantastic price, will be back, also serving staff were brilliant and laid back. Best of luck in the future!

Superb! As a southsider it's hard to tempt me over to the west end these days, we've got a lot of good restaurants on our doorstep. However, some friends recommended Elena's and it didn't disappoint! The waiter who greeted us was knowledgeable and friendly, the waitress who served our table for the rest of the evening even more so. The food was amazing and service was prompt. My only complaint was the TV screen showing the chef's cookery demonstration. I was reminded every 3 minutes that we should have also ordered the patatas bravas! We've booked again for Christmas eve so I'll get my chance! Fantastic evening, can't wait for round 2!!

I came in here from Yorkhill in pain feeling sorry for myself and wanting a comforting hot chocolate. I was met with a smiling face and a nice open teberna. Open enough for those with mobility issues to get seated or takeaway. I heard them being very amenable to a person coming into finalise a mixed ability party booking and as food is made on site they will accommodate your dietary wishes also. The music was at a great level and during my short wait for my tasty racións I even daydreamed that Elena's would be just as welcoming during a fiesta. When i am next in Yorkhill I know where I'm going afterwards. Came in for the chocolate and stayed for food and atmosphere. They well deserve their awards. Dietary restrictions: Be polite and specific and they'll be amenable to any dietary needs. Kid-friendliness: There aren't any toys etc to play with but as long as your child knows not to get under feet and be a general toerag I don't think children would be a problem. However as this asks under kid-friendliness I know the cabras must've been happy and friendly as they're tender to eat 😀 jk... kinda Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room and very accommodating.

What a fantastic meal my husband and I had, we had various types of tapas and they were all delicious, loved the decor, great friendly service and can’t wait to go back.

A great find near SWG3 We booked a table for four in Elena’s for a quick bite to eat prior to attending a music gig in SWG3. We were greeted warmly upon arrival, and shown to our seat straight away. Our drinks order was taken promptly, and our food order taken shortly afterwards. There were four of us, so we each selected a couple of tapas dishes to share. We ordered meatballs, patatas bravas, calamari and onion rings, prawns with marie rose sauce, black pudding, mushroom and spinach croquettes, mussels and chicken goujons. All dishes were delicious. A jug of hand made sangria helped the food go down well. Grear location, great food and great service

Super service, lovely place and you feel like home, it was a little bit pricey but when you taste it you will know why. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Great Sunday Brunch Visited Sunday morning for family and friends brunch. We had eaten here before, but always later in the day. Nice selection of freshly made juices, my pineapple and mint was very good. I also tried the strawberry juice, first time that I’ve had fresh strawberry juice. We had quite a selection of dishes as we were a table of 10. The dishes came out of the kitchen one by one as they were ready, just like the later in the day food we’ve had here before. Would definitely return.

Great wee authentic place. All the food was phenomenal and very friendly nice staff. Was great to see all the staff sit down together for lunch - just like you see in restaurants in Spain. Great laidback vibe. We will definitely be back!

I went here on Halloween with friends. I had the octopus main as a starter and the seafood platter. The octopus was ok, didn't taste of much seasoning. The seafood platter with lobster was HUGE. It was £60 and have to say it's the biggest platter I've ever seen, you'd normally pay this amount for something a third of the size as there was no salad padding underneath, it was seafood down to the plate! I've grown used to platters being for one so was pleasantly surprised. There was so much I took a doggie bag for lunch the next day. My friends all had the tapas which they said was ok. They also had sirloin steaks and although they asked for well done, all were medium and one of the guys couldn't eat a big part of his as he doesn't like pink meat so eat around the pink bits. Overall it was fantastic value for money though it was more quantity over quality (except for the platter, which was lovely)

Food was fine but when it came to ordering dessert the waitress informed us that we would have to wait 20 minutes before we could place our order as the chefs were having a break! One of our group complained, there wasn’t much by way of apology and we waited at least another 40minutes by the time some of the desserts arrived. It wasn’t explained when we booked, arrived or ordered that the chefs would have a break during our meal. The cleanliness of the ladies toilets was poor. Don’t think we’ll return or recommend this restaurant.

Visited today with husband and kids. Staff friendly and attentive. Food delicious. We are frequent visitors to Spain and enjoy tapas. This is one of the best we have eaten outside of Spain. Highly recommend goats cheese, spinach and mushroom croquettes and meatballs. Free appetiser was a nice touch too. We will be back!

Excellent After reading some recent reviews i was a bit unsure about coming back. Glad i did though. We had a lovely night. Came here before and enjoyed it and it was our first revisit since lockdown. When we arrived we waited outside and someone came immediately to check we had booked, show us to a table and take our contact details. He explained that the table had been wiped down and offered an extra wipe down if we’d like it. Looking around i noticed the place has had a bit of a makeover since last visit. Very nice! Tables were more spaced out because of distancing. Our drinks order was taken quickly and shortly after our food order was taken. There was no problem of excessive wait. People were arriving, being told the safety procedures and shown to tables as we waited so there seemed to be a good system in place. Our food came out in good time. Clams were delicious and we ordered bread to mop up that amazing sauce. The fried courgettes in red wine glaze are fantastic. After our food we ordered another couple of glasses of wine and chilled before moving on. A really good and enjoyable meal and i have to say in total contrast to some recent reviews and this was a Saturday night. Remains a firm favourite and the effort to keep people safe and happy appreciated. Back soon!

Food was really nice and tasty. Sadly this was slightly let down by the service , with 2 of the younger staff looking like they didn’t really want to be there but managed to look busy all the time. Was really hard to get their attention despite being in view of the bar resulting after 5 minutes of me having to stand up and approach the bar . This was picked up by one of their colleagues and they then came to our table to take our additional food orders . We had a range of dishes including the grilled vegetables which were a really nice accompaniment with everything else. For desert I had 2 scoops of the home made ice cream which were absolutely delicious .

Now do Spanish brekky alongside all day tapas and more substantial raciones and meals. Lovely family business, honest and authentic cantabrian cooking from Northern Spain. Relaxed atmosphere (can just have a coffee or a beer and quick bite) and also dog-friendly Kid-friendliness: It's Spanish family - kids are part of that, but don't expect a play area or child's menu - small portions of proper food

Decided to have lunch here and was not disappointed. Great host helped with the menu and feeding the kids including one who was a bit fussy so we're Ble to accommodate with some items from the breakfast menu. Ordered vegetarian, vegan and meat tapas dishes and all were delicious and portion sizes were great. Two plates were enough for lunch probably 3 plates for dinner. Churros were delicious. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian selections and choices that can be vegetarian or vegan on request as noted on menu.
